The Future of Cooling Has Arrived

The HVAC industry is entering a new era, and Scott’s Air is here to ensure you’re prepared. With the upcoming 2025 refrigerant transition, understanding what’s ahead will empower you to make the best decisions for your home’s comfort and efficiency. Let’s dive into what this means for you and how Scott’s Air is ready to help.

What Are the Key Changes?
The 2025 refrigerant transition is a direct response to environmental concerns and global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Here’s a closer look at the upcoming changes:

  • Out with R-410A
R-410A, the industry-standard refrigerant for years, is being phased out. While effective, it has a high Global Warming Potential (GWP), contributing significantly to climate change.
  • In with Sustainability
Replacing R-410A are more eco-friendly refrigerants such as R-454B and R-32. These next-generation refrigerants come with numerous advantages:

    • Lower GWP: Significantly reduced environmental impact.
    • Energy Efficiency: Enhanced system performance, meaning lower energy consumption and reduced utility bills.
    • Innovative Design: Systems built for these refrigerants are often quieter and more reliable.

Why Act Now?
Delaying upgrades to your HVAC system could cost you in more ways than one. Here’s why proactive action is the smart choice:

  • Rising Costs
As the 2025 deadline approaches, the availability of R-410A will decrease, driving up repair and maintenance costs for older systems.
  • Future-Proofing Your Home
Modern systems designed for the new refrigerants ensure you’re aligned with current standards, avoiding compatibility issues in the future.
  • Energy Savings
Today’s HVAC systems are built to maximize energy efficiency. By upgrading now, you’ll enjoy lower energy bills and a reduced carbon footprint.

My heating had not been working for a long time, which is fine because this is Florida and I very rarely use heat. But with all the cold recently, I decided to get it fixed. Scott’s was able to send someone out the next day to figure out the issue, and Christian came out and was able to figure out the issue. A part did need to be ordered, which was available for installation the following day. Overall, the process was very smooth and everyone was polite and professional.

Dan Kelly is such a knowledgeable technician. He truly cares about the customer experience. Being in the service industry myself, I can see how much he cares and pours himself into each problem we've encountered. He easily diagnoses other technician errors and gets them fixed rapidly. Big Ups to Dan, we really appreciate him!
